The File Replication Service (FRS) is deprecated. To continue replicating the SYSVOL folder, you should migrate to DFS Replication by using the DFSRMIG command. If you continue to use FRS for SYSVOL replication in this domain, you might not be able to add domain controllers running a future version of Windows Server. Servers that indirectly run the Install-ADDSDomainController cmdlet in Server Manager.
There was this section below on final step on the First 2016 DC install in the forest. The File Replication Service (FRS) is deprecated. Saw a few articles that said to run the following command (shown with output):
![The File Replication Service (frs Is Deprecated The File Replication Service (frs Is Deprecated](http://www.rebeladmin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/dfrs6.png)
dfsrmig.exe /getglobalstate
Current DFSR global state: 'Start'
Succeeded.
Looks like I am on FRS???
What is the process to migrate?
What is the impact of migrating over?
What check points should I be doing to test DFSR

SERVER - Running Windows Server 2012 Standard
SERVER02-DC - Running Windows Server 2019 Standard
When trying to promote the server to a DC it is telling me
'Verification of replica failed. The specified domain *domainName*.local is still using the File Replication Service (FRS) to replicate the SYSVOL share. FRS is deprecated. ...
You MUST migrate the specified domain to use DFS replication using the DFRSMIG command before continuing'
Follow rebel admin tutorial..
Try running dfsrmig /getglobalstate on SERVER02-DC and I get
Unable to create DFSR Migration log file. Error 5
The local computer is not a domain controller.
Which loops back to me trying to get the server to be come a DC. I don't really know where to go from here?
This is my first time ever migrating to a new DC in a real work environment. So please, bare with my my dumb questions.
